Saying Farewell to Ian

Our effervescent Artistic Directing Fellow, Ian Fields Stewart, is spreading their wings!
After nearly two years of their warmth, compassion, and talent, Ian has taken flight from the Girl Be Heard nest, but we cannot be more thankful to them for all they’ve brought to our family, and wish them all the best. You can check out their website to follow their future artist-activist adventures!
Join the Amplifiers!
Many of you have asked how you can become more involved with Girl Be Heard. We’re happy to announce that 2017 applications are still open to join our young professionals committee, The Amplifiers. Celebrating
Abigail Ramsay
FOR HER WORK IN TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
Girl Be Heard’s Director of Global Partnerships, Abigail Ramsay, helped pave the way for our first program abroad. It is no surprise that she has been recognized by the US State Department with so many inspiring, powerful human rights champions in Trinidad and Tobago. Her photo is right under the
“W” – where it belongs, since she’s a Wonder Woman! Congratulations Abigail!

GBH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ABROAD DEBUTS THEIR VERY FIRST UNPLUGGED SHOW
“Amazingly anticipated milestone met,” said Deneka Thomas, Teaching Artist in GBH’s first after school program abroad. “This is how art can change the lives of girls. By giving them a voice. By liberating them and allowing them the bravery to speak out.”
Get ready world – these artists and activists are staging the revolution for peace, justice, and equality for all in the Caribbean. It was the girls’ first time on stage, but definitely not their last. Mark your calendars! Their end of year show is in June at Central Bank Auditorium in Port of Spain.
