Hi all,
We have secured Wednesday December 21 at 11am to take a Cromwell at the MERC Walking Tour to discuss ideas and get basic questions on the proposed rezoning of the Bay Street Corridor answered. As a follow up to our recent Cromwell Community Led Visioning Symposium, we’d like to look at how the Maritime Education & Recreation Corridor (MERC) could align with the Bay Street Corridor Rezoning. With the impending design and construction of the NY Harbor MIddle School at Fort Wadsworth, we would also like to begin community discussions on elements that might complement the MERC. Captain Ann Fraioli of the NY Harbor Foundation and possibly some of her colleagues may join us to talk about needs and possibilities. Ann is one of the authors of the Harbor School curriculum and will be intimately involved in the development of the Harbor Middle School.
With the assistance of SI Dept of City Planning, NY Harbor Foundation, Parents and Cromwell Coalition Members, we hope to have a fruitful discussion. Also, we have invited friends from Councilmember Rose’s Office, the Boro President’s Office, Design Trust For Public Space, SI Arts, St. John’s University, Waterfront Alliance, National Lighthouse Museum, Civic Associations and our Community Board.
