NYC Parks has begun to look for New Yorkers who are interested in becoming a lifeguard for summer 2024!

There will be a qualifying test at Curtis High School on Saturday, January 20th. Interested applicants can register for this exam at https://www.nycgovparks.org/reg/life-guard-test/14587.

Lifeguards will learn CPR, first aid, and rescue techniques while improving their swimming skills and working alongside others who are committed to public safety by protecting New Yorkers at the City’s eight public beaches and 53 outdoor pools. All potential lifeguards must pass the Lifeguard Qualifying Test, which includes a vision and swim exam. New this year, a letter from an eye doctor will be accepted in lieu of taking a vision exam onsite.
