I am happy to announce that the Department of Transportation (DOT), in partnership with BikeNY, the Staten Island Ferry Hawks and NYPD, will be launching the 2nd Annual “Donate-A-Bike” initiative.
We are once again asking all Staten Islanders to donate their old or unused bicycles, no matter their current condition for this initiative. BikeNY will be refurbishing these bikes for distribution to underserved communities and Staten Islanders in need during Bike Month in May (details to be announced). Each person donating a bike will receive 2 free FerryHawk tickets.
Donation dates are the next 5 consecutive Saturdays, beginning this Saturday (February 24th ). Dates, times and locations are indicated on the attached flyer.We are asking our community partners to support this good cause and help us spread the word by distributing the attached flyer to your employees and visitors, as well as posting it in your office.
