Girl Be Heard is a social justice nonprofit & theatre collective. We strive to create safe spaces for girls to mobilize, tell their stories, and create cutting-edge, politically-relevant theatre around social justice issues affecting them and girls around the world.

Girl Be Heard seeks performers, songwriters, dancers, writers, and activists to join our theatre ensemble. Young women-ages 12 through 21-of all backgrounds, abilities, gender expressions, ethnicities, races, sexual orientations, religions, and nationalities are strongly encouraged to audition. Ensemble members meet every Sunday from 2pm to 5pm starting on March 12th until the end of June. The program will culminate with an end of year performance.

E-mail a photo, resume, and short note on why you want to be part of Girl Be Heard to auditions@girlbeheard.org. You do not need to have a professional photo/resume to be considered. Your slot will include your performance of the work and a brief interview. Please prepare a short piece (two minutes or under) – written by you, in your voice – addressing an issue you are passionate about. This is your time to show us who you are and what is important to you! The piece does not need to be memorized. You must reserve a spot to guarantee your place within the audition process.
