Dear Friend,
Congress is currently working to fix our broken healthcare system, and I wanted to update you on the reform process. As you may be aware, the American Health Care Act (AHCA) — legislation focused on repairing the U.S. healthcare system to create a patient-centered system that delivers quality and affordable care — was recently introduced, and I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.
You can read the bill in its entirety and get more information on the legislation by visiting www.ReadTheBill.gop
I wanted to highlight that the AHCA maintains important provisions, including:
- Allows young adults to stay on parents plan until 26;
- ensures coverage for pre-existing conditions;
- bans lifetime caps; and
- prevents companies from charging women more than men
This bill will proceed through House and Senate committees and undergo revisions before coming to a full vote. In the meantime, I will continue analyzing the proposal to ensure that this legislation will help lower costs, increase choices, and protect coverage for families, businesses, and vulnerable patients in our district.
Please read the AHCA and let me know what you think of the plan. Send me your feedback by emailing my office at https://donovan.house.gov/contact, or calling my Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-3371.
Sincerely,
Daniel M. Donovan, Jr.
