With the launch of the application, TCS NYC Marathon season has officially kicked off. Volunteer registration is open now and we are looking for a record number of Staten Island based volunteers. We are recruiting volunteer leaders and volunteer groups to join us on marathon day, Sunday, November 6.  Volunteer leaders train at NYRR races year round and earn a special marathon jacket.  If you are interested in joining as a leader, learn more and register on line.  We will be hosting an information meeting at Wagner College on Tuesday, February 23 at 7 pm. If you are interested in bringing a group to volunteer at the marathon join us for a short webinar at 8 am, 12 pm, 3 pm or 8 pm.  Email volunteers@nyrr.org and we will send you the log in details.   Groups who check-in 20 volunteers are eligible for guaranteed entry for the 2017 TCS NYC Marathon. Leaders and groups are especially needed for the marathon start at Fort Wadsworth.  Free parking and transportation to the Fort are available. All volunteers at the marathon start will receive a marathon jacket.

Please help us spread the word about these volunteer opportunities by posting information on your events calendars, using the attached picture on Facebook or including the above information in your emails to your group.  Thank you for your assistance and feel free to reach out with other suggestions of people to reach out to or with questions.  Last year, 95% of the volunteers at the marathon start were from outside Staten Island.  We know how community minded Staten Island residents are, we just need your help reaching the right folks to turn that number around.
